The Under-14 cricket tournament, organized by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, is currently taking place at Gumma Cricket Stadium in Shimla and Santoshgarh Una. In Gumma district, Group B comprises Mandi, Sirmaur, and Kangra teams participating in their league matches, while in Una, Group A consists of Solan, Kullu, and Chamba teams playing their league matches. Mandi played their first match against Sirmour, losing the toss, and Sirmour chose to bat. Anshuman Bhardwaj and Moksh Negi opened the innings for Sirmour, while Arnav Thakur and Vaidushya took charge of the opening bowling spell for Mandi. Sirmour made a strong start, but Aadish Minhas, making his debut for Mandi, changed the game when Sirmour’s opener Anshuman Bhardwaj was declared LBW in his over. From then on, there was no turning back, and Sirmour’s entire team was dismissed for 102. Aadish Minhas claimed six wickets, bowling 16 overs, with five maidens, conceding 32 runs. Additionally, two players were run out during his spell. Aadarsh Thakur and Satvik Thakur each took one wicket each, while Anant Chauhan (30) and Hardik Sharma (31) were the only players from Sirmour to reach double-digit scores.
In Mandi’s batting, Vishaarad Singh Saklani and Daksh Thakur opened the innings, scoring 71 and 43 runs respectively. However, at a score of 123, Mandi lost three quick wickets. A crucial 31 from Aadish Minhas and 19 from Adarsh Thakur helped Mandi reach a total of 221 for 9 when they declared their innings. In the second inning, Sirmour was struggling at 17 for 5, but a brilliant partnership between Anant (41) and Daksh Thakur (61) helped them reach a total of 125/7 when the innings were concluded. In the second innings for Mandi, Aadish Minhas and Satvik Thakur each took two wickets each. The match ended in a draw, and Aadish Minhas was honored as the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance of 8 wickets and a valuable 31-run contribution. Mandi’s next match is scheduled against Kangra on Saturday.
